About Us

Our Mission

At Mush’s Bottomless Bowl, our unwavering mission is to ensure that pets in need never have to face the dire reality of an empty food bowl. We achieve this by generously donating food to local animal shelters, offering vital support to individuals facing financial burdens in caring for their pets, and collaborating with local mental health associations to facilitate the adoption of cherished companions. Through these compassionate efforts, we honor the memory of our beloved Mush, a cherished companion who rescued our hearts.

We know that every animal is different and that every shelter has their own unique needs for food, based on the dietary requirements of the animals in their care. Mush’s Bottomless Bowl works with each organization and finds out the specific types of foods that they require and we work to source exactly that, for each and every donation that we make. 100% of monetary donations to MBB are put towards this mission, to help shelters and foster based organizations, focus on finding furever homes for those adorable best friends, that we have yet to meet.

On December 24th, 2023, this beautiful story of friendship came to an end as my beloved companion crossed over the rainbow bridge.

Throughout our “nine lives” together, we were fortunate enough to never go without. Most who had the pleasure of meeting Mush knew that I always kept multiple filled food dishes throughout our home in case, for some unseen circumstance, I was unable to arrive home in a timely manner.

In honoring everything that Mush meant to me and others, I am committed to dedicating his “tenth life” to supporting those who provide better lives for the animals under their care. He is the reason for everything good within me and his memory will forever push me to be the best version of myself.”

RIP Mush, My Loyal Companion

On the morning of May 21st, 2009, a stray cat unexpectedly leaped into the backseat of my car as I was preparing to leave for work. This serendipitous encounter forever changed the course of my life. I offered my new acquaintance some canned chicken that day, and he continued to visit regularly. I later discovered from neighbors that he had hitched a ride in their U-Haul during their move from Niagara Falls to Buffalo, NY, only to venture out and find himself living on the streets once they reached their new home.

After weeks of consistent visits, belly rubs, and head scratches, he eventually claimed me as his human. Thus began the journey of 2 best friends, that spanned over 14 years.

“Whenever laying around or just content, his face would just mush together in an adorably distinguished fashion and that name really stuck.”
