On what would have been Mush’s 16th purrthday, there was no better way to celebrate, than for MBB to make their 1st donation. We delivered 144 lbs. of food to Cozy Cat Cottage in Powell and they were incredibly thankful for the assistance..😻Cozy Cat Cottage Adoption Center is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), no-kill organization that provides refuge, aid and care for abandoned, injured and/or abused felines. We are committed to providing shelter and care for these felines while attempting to find permanent, responsible, loving homes. THANK YOU to everyone who have generously supported us, as this will be the 1st of countless donations, to animal shelters in the area.
We delivered 6 cases of specialty wet food and 3 bags of specialty dry food to For the Love of Jane and their founder Antonia Tribuzzo. For the Love of Jane operates as a foster based, 501(c)3 non-profit animal rescue that specializes in neonatal care. They prioritize foster based home care, high quality nutrition, integrative veterinary care, and community outreach to promote animal welfare and end animal suffering. Given the nature of their outstanding work, the animals in their care require specific types of food and we were honored to be able to help support their mission. As one of the original organizations that responded to our inquiries, when we 1st began the idea of MBB in January, we were thrilled to finally have the chance to assist. 😻
MBB team had the opportunity to support another wonderful establishment. We delivered 424 cans of much needed food to Ark of Redemption in Columbus and of course, spent some quality time with the animals there. The Ark began as a dedicated rescue facilitator, proactively seeking reputable organizations to assist individuals who posted on Facebook forums about homeless cats in difficult situations, such as being pregnant, sick, or injured. When these rescues reached capacity, they coordinated with foster homes to provide temporary care until a vacancy became available. As the number of requests for their help increased, it became clear that establishing their own shelter would significantly enhance our ability to assist more cats in need. Ark of Redemption is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization operating a free-roaming cat shelter. They are dedicated to providing a safe and loving world for cats in need. Inspired by the Hawaiian word “kahu,” meaning guardian or caretaker, their mission is to rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome cats, ensuring they find their forever families.
Their Cat Behavior Manager (Andrea) gave us a tour of the space and shared all the stories of the animals in their care. They were ecstatic about the donation and were also the 1st organization that utilized the “Request Services” functionality of our website. We were thrilled to be able to assist and look forward to pawtnering with their organization, going forward.😻
We recently had the opportunity to support another wonderful shelter with their food needs. The MBB team made a donation to Colony Cats & dogs in Dublin, Ohio. Colony Cats is an all-volunteer, 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose primary mission is to address cat overpopulation in central Ohio through public awareness and spay/neuter efforts. Since 2002, their organization has facilitated spay/neuter of nearly 26,000 cats and dogs, and placed more than 21,000 pets in homes. They have a cage-free cat adoption center and a network of foster homes for friendly, adoptable cats and kittens (as well as dogs/puppies they encounter while assisting cats) that have been rescued. They are also in partnership with area pet supply stores that help them, by showcasing their adoptable cats at offsite locations throughout central Ohio.
THANK YOU for the support and we will continue to share our efforts with everyone here. Please continue to share our mission with others and donate if you are able to do so.
Last week, we celebrated the 3 month anniversary of our 1st donation, the best way we knew how…..to make another donation of course We had the opportunity to see one of our amazing pawtners, Dr. Antonia Tribuzzo, (founder of For the Love of Jane) at Lifetime Pet Wellness Center. Antonia is one of the talented doctors at the center and she kindly gave us a tour of where such pawesome care and services are provided for animals in need of assistance. Lifetime Pet Wellness Center employs an integrative holistic approach to wellness and provide many treatment options to benefit your pets. In addition to conventional veterinary medicine, they offer traditional Chinese medicine, veterinary chiropractic, acupuncture, nutritional therapies, and homeopathy. We got to see a number of skillful and caring associates tending to the needs of the animals there and whether it was a bottle fed kitten, canine customer, or 3 legged feline named Hopper (who was getting ready to head to his furever home) you couldn’t help but to be in awe of the heartfelt services that were being provided. Hearing the stories of animals that had suffered terrible injury, being slowly nursed back to health truly touched our hearts and we were thankful for the opportunity to provide assistance to this wonderful establishment.
We brought a donation of specialty wet and dry foods, that are needed for the specific diets of the animals in their care. With each outreach and donation, we learn more about the establishments that take care of these animals and also continue to seek out furever homes, for our soon to be best friends. I never even knew that chiropractic care for cats was a thing, though it would explain why Mush would always climb up me, whenever I’d hang on the inversion table….maybe he just needed an adjustment as well!
The MBB Team has been busy since our interview on Good Day Columbus, continuing to support the wonderful pet focused organizations around us. We have known that the need for services like ours is in high demand in Central Ohio. These needs are even greater in areas that have limited resources around them and we were able to assist an organization, where that is certainly the case. The team recently donated 162 lbs. of food to Second Chances Rescue and Healing Sanctuary in Kimbolton, OH.
The area has a large stray cat population and the founder (Jacqueline) wanted to be a compassionate light to the stray population. She knew that most of these feral cats would never find a furever home, so she started the organization, to promote adoption of these cats. Knowing that not all of them will find their human, she provides a sanctuary for those who are likely permanent residence with her. All of this means that there are countless bowls that need to be filled, but limited resources to do so. They so greatly appreciated our support and we appreciated the selfless decision she made, to provide the best lives, for the animals in their care.
he MBB team recently had the privilege of supporting another wonderful organization in the area, by donating 131 lbs. of cat and dog food to Columbus Pet Rescue. CPR’s mission is to care for all animals in need of help – stray and neglected, abandoned, and abused, friendly and feral. With compassion and purpose, they pave the path toward adoption, championing the belief that every life saved from the streets enriches our own.
Columbus Pet Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Columbus, Ohio and their adoptable animals are currently living in the homes of volunteers throughout Central Ohio, as well as an adoption center in the Grove City location of PetSmart. Since they currently do not have a physical location, there are a number of grants that they are not able to access, which means much of their food needs come out of their own funds. Their hope is to one day raise enough money for a shelter location of their own. As a pet rescue, CPR’s mission is to care for all animals in need of help. This includes animals that are unfit for adoption, for whom they continue to provide food, shelter, and medical care to prevent the spreading of disease and overpopulation. Throughout Columbus their volunteers have stumbled upon various colonies of feral cats living in unsafe environments with scant food, rampant disease, and uncontrolled breeding. They care for several colonies of feral cats, all of which have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and ticks, tested for disease, and vaccinated. Their Director (Connie) was kind enough to take time out of her hectic schedule, to talk through recommendations on how we can continue to grow and focus on the aspects of our mission that will be the most impactful. We are very fortunate to add another phenomenal Pawtner to our list and look forward to working with them going forward.
A heartfelt thank you to the Dollar General Distribution Center in Zanesville, OH, for their outstanding support of our mission. Denny Rhoades, DG’s Inbound Manager was gracious to include us on their rotating donor list for cat and dog food, as well as litter. They kindly reach out to organizations whenever they have available donations. Unsure of what to expect, we rented a 10′ U-Haul to pick up the donation. Kevin Bailey, who coordinates product movement at their distribution center, was an incredible partner. He patiently answered my questions leading up to our trip and ensured that the rolling racks kept coming as we loaded the truck. In the end, we managed to fit six rolling racks, each six feet tall and two feet deep, before reaching capacity. We quickly realized that a 15′ truck would be a better option if we were lucky enough to be selected again. The countless bags of cat food, dog food, and cat litter we received truly moved me as I thought about all the animals we could help. We had been in communication with Columbus Humane, aware of the large population they serve and that their pantry for pet owners in need was running low. After leaving the distribution center, we reached out to see if they could accept a donation in just over an hour. Our contact, Jared, was fantastic throughout the process and helped us offload the goods once we arrived. We were thrilled to provide them with nearly 1,500 lbs 😵of supplies to support their initiatives and all those who rely on their resources. Jared graciously gave us a tour of their new facility, showcasing their medical area, where they provide low-cost surgeries, dental procedures, and radiology services for pets in need. We are immensely grateful for this opportunity. We truly kicked off 2025 in a big way, and with more than half a truckload of goods still remaining and exciting campaigns ahead, we are eager for what year two of our mission will bring. Thank you to the Dollar General DC in Zanesville, Kevin Bailey, and Jared and Tommy at Columbus Humane, for making the last week of January a memorable one at MBB—for all the right reasons! 😺❤🐶
This past weekend, MBB had the opportunity to support our amazing pawtner, Colony Cats 😺 We know how harsh this winter has been for all of us, but it has been especially difficult for the feral community. Colony Cats not only works to find furever homes for countless felines, but they also run a TNR program to support those animals who call the streets their home. They had already exhausted most of their food supply allocated to these efforts and we wanted to support them, however possible! We were able to provide 415 lbs. of food to their cause and have already been able to donate 2,018 lbs. of food this year 😱😻 Given we finished 2024 with 2,185 lbs. it absolutely warms our hearts knowing what we have been able to accomplish in 2025 and are excited for all the things ahead for us this year! We are incredibly thankful for organizations like Colony Cats and their continued efforts to assure a better life, for all of our feline friends 😻❤
This past weekend, we had the privilege of supporting our pawtners at Columbus Humane by addressing some of their food needs. We proudly delivered 501 lbs. of dog food and 261 lbs. of cat food, totaling 762 lbs., to help fuel the incredible work they do for the pet community.
Our donations contribute to their Pet Food Pantry program, which provides essential resources to pet owners in need of supplemental support throughout the year. Typically, they can offer one bag of dry dog kibble, one bag of dry cat food, several cartons of wet cat food, and cat litter, though selection and quantities may vary based on current inventory.
The Pet Food Pantry program is available by appointment. To schedule a visit, please go to www.columbushumane.org/petfood and click the orange “Make Appointment” button.
The MBB team is honored to assist in their mission, made possible by our amazing supporters ❤❤ We are deeply grateful to everyone who believes in our cause. It is because of YOU that we can help countless pet owners, their beloved pets, and those seeking a forever home of their own. 😺🐶❤
